FAQ

What is homeopathy?

Homeopathy is a holistic system of medicine invented by Dr Samuel Hahnemann around 1800. Over the past two centuries, homeopathy has been steadily spreading around the world, and is currently estimated to be used by more than 450 million people in at least 70 different countries. In France, 95% of all GPs, paediatricians and dermatologists use homeopathic remedies in their practices.

Homeopathy can be used on its own, or safely used alongside other modalities, such as herbal medicine or pharmaceuticals. If used correctly, homeopathy might be the missing tool you need to be able to transform your life for the better.

What are homeopathic remedies?

Homeopathic remedies come in pill, tablet or liquid form. They are usually made from small amounts of naturally occuring materials such as plants or minerals. These remedies are non-toxic and are safe to use for all ages and in all levels of health.

How does homeopathy work?

Homeopathy works in a subtle way, by gently triggering the body's own healing ability. Homeopaths believe that we can effectively dilute and energise different substances to create medicine. These subtle remedies are able to communicate with a subtle layer of our bodies, initiating a healing response. This approach has over 200 years of evidence supporting its efficacy.

What medical conditions can homeopathy help with?

Homeopathy treats the whole person and not just their symptoms. As a result, it can be helpful for symptoms of most conditions, such as skin conditions, hormonal imbalances, autoimmune disorders, migraines, anxiety symptoms, post-viral fatigue (e.g., long covid), digestive issues, musculoskeletal problems, and more. It can also address mental/emotional symptoms.

What to expect from a homeopathic consultation?

A homeopathic consultation is a thorough interview, similar to a longer session with your GP or a psychological assessment. Homeopaths consider all symptoms, recognizing the interconnectedness between physical and mental health. After the interview, the homeopath analyzes your case to determine the appropriate remedy.

Will I need a follow up consultation?

If you are visiting me with a chronic concern, the answer is most likely yes. Working on a chronic issue with a homeopath can be an ongoing process that requires time. Follow-ups facilitate communication and ensure all symptoms are effectively addressed. We often need to change remedies or dosage.

If there is a need for follow-ups, I usually recommend them 6-8 weeks apart. It's rare that I recommend 4 weeks, but it can happen.

What is the best way to take remedies?

The remedies I use are to be taken orally. If administered in a pill format, let the pill melt under your tongue (usually takes less than a minute). Please avoid food, drinks, or brushing your teeth at least 15 minutes before and after taking the remedy.

Can I contact you in-between sessions?

Yes, you can. While I don't answer phone calls, I always read my text messages. For urgent issues, send me a text. For non-urgent questions, it's better to email me. If a topic requires a more detailed discussion, I'll let you know.
